"A Musical Fantasy through Time and Space"
By Jennifer, in Arizona
"I’m sorry, but I’ve never been a fan of audio books. A friend told me about The Jazz Storyteller, promising me that I wouldn’t be disappointed. As I listened, it was immediately obvious this was far removed from my previous perception of Jazz! The story is a musical fantasy across time and space. As promised, Resnick’s story is A Webcast Like No Other. There is a fine line between Reality and Imagination. The characters reflect people I know. Or would like to know. Resnick’s own narration is not only mesmerizing, but emotionally powerful, proof that the best narrator can only be the writer himself. His production technique is multi-dimensional, effectively combining music, sound effects, and everything else that turns this story into a satisfying and enticing listening adventure. As a musician myself, I confess that I was inspired by the ultimate truth of the story.
You’ll hear what I mean when you listen for yourself!”
"A Gift for the Listener!"
By William, in Ohio
"The Jazz Storyteller is a true gift to the listener, a fairy tale for adults without the obligatory Post-Modern irony or scary night-of-the-living-dead-zombie-attack-vampire story device, even while being a love letter to life and after ‘life.’ Mr. Resnick is excellent, as both reader and writer, as earnest and un-ironic in his reading as his storytelling, and if you don't wrap your arms around life just a bit tighter after listening to this, you weren't listening."
"An exhilarating must-listen for serious musicians!"
By Paul, in New York
"The Jazz Storyteller is a finely woven tapestry of colorful characters brought together in the world of improvisational jazz and the richness that accompanies the jazz lifestyle. Being a musician myself, I found the out of body experience during improvisation to be an interesting and familiar concept and a place I have approached myself on those nights when all cylinders were firing in beautiful harmony! Trumpet Man reminded me of a number of old mentors from my youth. I happened to be right around 12 years old (as was Woody) when my uncle (who was a trombone and bass player) got me invited to a couple of gigs performing with local Concert and Jazz Bands. The old timers were very much like Trumpet Man and The Performer, always giving advice, smoking, drinking and full of stories. The dynamics between Woody and the musicians were enjoyable, colorful and easy to relate to. I found the story line fascinating in that people have asked me what it felt like when I perform in front of a large audience with the band really jammin', and Jeff's description is spot on! His account of jazz improvisation is passionate, exciting and exhilarating!! It made me want to break out my tenor and blow the walls down! As the story unfolds, you will meet the people that meant so much in Woody's life and see how they help guide him through the emotional roller coaster he was destined to endure as a result of dedicating himself to the fickle world of jazz. You'll see the pieces begin to fit (or do they?) especially with his musical soul mate, Violetta. You'll feel the passion of Lenny Dee as he struggles to fulfill a life-altering promise he made to a friend from years gone by. The surprise ending alone is worth the price of admission which, by the way, is FREE! There is no doubt this is a must read/listen for any serious musician or fan of music. It weaves together the passion, joy, heartache, anguish, jubilation
and countless other emotions that accompany this poignant musical journey."

“You are about to become addicted. It happened to me. It can happen to you. When you least expect it, you'll realize you can't stop. You want more. And more. It's all good, though. Jazz lives in your soul, even if you didn't know it until now."
